The conference worked for three days and included 6 blocks. The conference was opened by the vice-rector of Ukrainian Catholic University Taras Dobko

Kostiantyn Fisun, research director in ‘Concorde Capital’, told about macroeconomic challenges of today.

Block Two was about the development of new credit policy of banks. Among the components of restructuring activity, Taras Khoma, deputy chair of the Board in ‘Kredobank’ OJSC, mentioned the following: changing crediting terms, delay of interest rates payment, converting foreign currency credits into hryvnia on condition of consolidating backing, including that at the expense of personal property of the founders; warranties of the founders or financially reliable partners; increase of interest rates; partial preschedule repayment of the available debt (20-30%).

Nataliya Kulykova, head of department for major corporate clients at ‘Erste Bank’, Ukraine, described peculiarities and disadvantages of corporate funding in Ukraine, and told about upgrading business strategy of ‘Erste Bank’ in times of recession.

Orest Blashchuk, director at Western Main Regional Board of ‘Privatbank’, spoke about funding imports at the expense of foreign banks resources.

Roman Riznyk represented ‘Ukreximbank’.

The block discussions were summarized by the guest of honour at the conference, president of Ukrainian Banks Association, Oleksandr Suhoniako.

In the third block, the guests of the conferences had a chance to listen to the representatives of four investment companies and funds: Dmytro Symovonyk, director of ‘Citadel Capital’, Peter Charchalis, partner in ‘Horizon Capital’, USA, Valeriya Cheshko, senior expert on investment in ‘P&S Capital’, Slovenia, Serhiy Honcharevych, managing director in ‘Capital Times’.

Volodymyr Vorobey, director of ‘PPV Knowledge Networks’ spoke about opportunities of European funding.

The topic ‘Peculiarities of Financial Management’ was developed by:

Legal aspects of preparing the company for attracting investment and peculiarities of selling a company were explained by Andriy Kostiuk, vice president at ‘Pavlenko, Statsenko and Osinchuk’ legal firm.

However, the most important part of the conference was during personal informal communication of participants and speakers. This allowed for discussing the issues not only at the macro level, but also at the micro level. It also fostered networking.

The conference was completed by a tram city tour and celebration of LvBS anniversary.
