Program for the partners of legal business

Lviv Business School of UCU (LvBS) launches a program specially developed under the actual needs of the partners of law companies. The course is focused to receive the practical knowledge and skills necessary to achieve a specific outcome. It will help to move from the intuitive business management practices to the advanced tools for the strategic planning and management.

 

During the course the partners will get know about the classification of the types and approaches to the determining of business-strategies, about the obligatory and secondary marketing functions, about budgets formations and human resources management. Also they will learn the financial terminology, learn how to analyze the performance and make management decisions.

PROGRAM

Module 1. Strategy: a choice of alternatives or no alternative choice

In the module: The choice of the strategy of your own firm. Strategic planning: myths and realities. The choice of specialization and the formation of the practices of the firm. New business generation. The discovery of new practices, the launch of the new products, geographical expansion. Structuring of the effective partnership in the modern conditions. "Partner formula." Modern models of partnership structuring: external and internal.

Duration – 2 days: Thursday-Friday (10:00-18:00)

Module 2. Legal marketing: luxury or the way to live out

In the module
: Formulation of marketing products and determination of the relevant marketing tools: must have and nice to have. Formation of the marketing budget. Positioning in the market. The brand platform and the back side of "top" legal brand. Legal Associations. Commercial offers. Cross-selling and communication.

Duration-2 days: Friday-Saturday (10:00-18:00)

Module 3. Finance for partners

In the module: Finance targets in terms of law. The relationship of the financial and legal terminology. "Walt Disney Production" Case. Valuation of the company. Key financial indicators: indexes of liquidity, turnover, equity structure, profits, market value, ratios of capital-output ratio, capital productivity and their relationship with the profitability of the enterprise. Benchmarking of the financial indices. Dupont Model. "Pops Recycling" Case Management decisions based on a marginal profit.

Module 4. Team. Talent management 360 ° in the new reality.

Global trends in the formation of an effective team and talents management. How to create a brand of the company, with which the employees and candidates will fall in love. Professional development of the team of new generation through a culture of the innovation and openness. Tools of motivation. Wages beyond the motivational system. Teamwork. Goals setting - partner tasks. Questions of the responsibility and autonomy in the team. HR strategy - where the responsibility of the partner begins and ends.

Teachers:

Iryna Nikitina, a consultant on strategy and development. Iryna started cooperation with the legal market in 2004 as an executive director of Ukrainian Bar Association (2004-2007), executive director of leading national legal companies Magisters and Yehorov, Puhinskyi, Afanasyev and partners (2008-2012). Together with the partners of the national law firm she teaches the course "Management of legal practice" for the Masters of the Faculty of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow) and T. Shevchenko Kyiv National University. The author of the monograph about the inner kitchen of legal business "Hello, I want to be a partner!". Graduated with honors from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"; Graduate School of NTUU «KPI» (Kyiv, Ukraine) and the Technische Universitaet Berg-Academie Freiberg (Germany); passed a course on the psychology of organizations at the Institute of developing transactional analysis (United Kingdom).

Iryna Khimchak. Head of the direction of business development in the law firm Redcliffe Partners. She has more than nine years of experience in the areas of marketing, business development and communications sectors B2B and professional services. She built a career and gained a professional experience in the field of corporate communications and public relations in the leading Ukrainian and international law firms, including Redcliffe Partners, Clifford Chance, Sayenko Kharenko and Magisters (EPAP). The previous experience of Mrs. Khymchak also includes work in the area of communications in international companies and organizations, including Booz Allen Hamilton, Development Alternatives Inc and the United Nations Organization. For three years in a row she was at the top in the rating of business development specialists on the legal services market of Ukraine according to the Yurydychna Praktyka. Also according to the rating of Marketing Media Review 2015 Iryna is among 50 best managers of communications in Ukraine.

Mykhaylo Kolisnyk. Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor, partner of Institute of strategy "Inspira", managing partner of the firm "FINART Smart Solutions", Professor of finance. Certified securities trader. He graduated from the engineering-economic faculty of Lviv Polytechnic National University. After dissertation defending and internship in Wayne State University (Detroit, United States), Copenhagen Business School, he interned in the consulting firm "Dansk Management Forum (Copenhagen, Denmark), passed a series of internships at leading business schools in Slovenia (IMTA, IEDC), the Netherlands (Maastricht University). Mykhaylo now works as a financial consultant in the international projects and teaches courses on financial management, investment management of administrative and financial accounting. For three years he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Bank of "Pekao (Ukraine), he was a member of the supervisory boards of several national companies. Mykhaylo Kolisnyk is the author of more than 100 articles in finance and strategic management and headed from 2008 to 2010 Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS).

Natalya Kadya. Has more than 17 years of experience in the business. More than 6 years, she manages a leading law firm Marchenko Danevych, organized a merger of two companies.  As HR Director of investment company, she has successfully implemented a strategy of merger of two regional divisions with a single control center. 2004-2008. – HR Director of Belgian company Materialise representative office in Ukraine. During 4 years of work with the delegation led by Natalya the team of the Kyiv Office has increased by 10 times to 270 employees and was recognized as the best employer among the IT companies. Nataly is a certified coach (International University Erickson (ICF), trainer and author of the educational programs of organizational development. Author of articles and practical materials for the publications Novoye Vremya, EBA, WOMO, Liga as well as a number of specialized HR publications.  Since 2010 – consultant of organizational development, leadership and management.
