Drive, Inspiration, and Motivation to Conquer New Heights – Summary of Module for Innovators

23 Apr 2013

The highlights of MS in Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s April module were the presentation of ideas to address four issues before the city mayor Andriy Sadovyi and test drive of the participants’ start-up projects.

Eighteen experts in various fields of business came to LvBS to communicate with participants and provide feedback on project ideas that they plan to implement as part of their coursework at MS in Innovations and Entrepreneurship.

Director of Human Resources Department of N-iX Olha Sadokha, one of the experts in the test drive, says that before implementing one’s business idea or startup, one should ask himself the following questions:

  1. Why do I want to do this: what will change if I implement my idea?
  2.  What are the risks in my project?
  3. Who is my target audience?
  4.  What will I do when I encounter problems and who can support me?

In addition, during the module participants had a unique opportunity to present their own projects – innovative, high-value, low-cost solutions and ideas to solve four problems in Lviv – to Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi and representatives of the local administration.

During the module, which was held from April 16 to 20, participants also attended a course on organizational development taught by experts from the American University of St. Thomas Alla Georgiadi and John Conbere. Professor of Moral Theology at St. Lambert Interdiocesan Major Seminary and former head of the two largest charitable foundations in Germany, Alois Buch, led a discussion on Social Ethics. The participants also completed the course Operational Analysis and Cost Management by Andriy Kataev and Financial Accounting by Taras Khoma. Lyubomyr Tarnovsky spoke to the participants about the financial aspect of business during his course Making Decisions on Investments.

As part of the module, the students met with the Ambassador of Austria Wolf Dietrich Heim and took part in the discussion “The Essence and Value of Democracy.”

As a part of the course Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship by Andriy Hrynchuk, the LvBS held debates about the Labor Code of Georgia.
