Lviv Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University starts a project “Ethics and Technologies” in research of ethic challenges of future technologies. The project aims at the study of ethic perspectives of development and use of innovative technologies, like artificial intellect (AI), human-and-machine interfaces, neural networks, bionics, bidgata and others.
The first stage of the project is a research “Perception of ethic challenges of new technologies”, where with the help of interviews, interrogation and content analysis, the researchers will try to determine the level of ethic challenges realization among chiefs of technological companies, specialists, who are involved into the development of technologies and scientists as well as to analyze the presence and distribution of the mentioned topic in mass media.
Other directions of this project include organization of interesting events, master classes, training programmes and publication of specialized literature. The first event within the frames of the project is a business-lunch for the chiefs and owners of companies on the topic “Cyber security for managers”, with the participation of Roman Solohub, СЕО ISSP GROUP (Information Systems Security Partners – the leading international company in cyber security with the head office in Kyiv, a member of the Supervisory Board of Kyiv Cyber Academy), Nazar Tymoshyk, a certified ethic hacker, the leading advisor of security in the company SoftServe and Oleh Derevyanko, co-founder and president of Kyiv Cyber Academy, co-founder and head of the Board of Directors of ISSP, ex-deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
«Development of new technologies, which would serve for the good of people is impossible without clear ethic guidelines. In their turn these guidelines should be based on well grounded research of technologies as well as humanitarian subjects, such as sociology, anthropology, psychology and philosophy. I am sure that this project will consolidate specialists, who work at the intersection of different fields in order to provide for the society and business a holistic vision of the role of technologies in realization by a human of his mission”, – admitted the project advisor Stephen Russo, the global director of security and privacy of IBM.
The advisors of the project are Stephen Russo (Stephen Russo, the global director of security and privacy of IBM) , Andriy Hankevych (Director of strategic development of the company ELEKS) and Oleh Derevyanko, co-founder and president of Kyiv Cyber Academy , ex-deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine).
