The UCU LvivBusinessSchool’s program MS in Technology Management has won an award from the national IT Awards in the field of IT education program.
Program Manager Vasyl Matyashovsky received the award Sept. 13 at the conference IT Weekend Ukraine, which the largest Ukrainian IT company SoftServe has organized for the third time.
According to the organizers, the battle for the top IT Awards prize took place in six areas: Quality Assurance, Project Management, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Business Analysis and IT Education.
According to Vasyl Matyashovsky, in the intellectual industry competition takes places above all in 
the sphere of knowledge and skills, so in order for companies to be competitive in the global market they should educate their employees. “We enable the IT industry to develop and learn in the first Eastern European Program in Management of Technology from professors from world renowned universities such as Princeton University, Carnegie, Mellon, London Kingston, Leiden University, Wharton, Harvard, EMLYON, and Munich. The best in technology education has become available to Ukrainian companies through this program.”
Michael Corbett, founder and head of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), says: “To strengthen your positions and effectively compete on the global outsourcing market, you have a window of 5-10 years to thoroughly understand the world of technology and business relations. This is why it is important to learn business culture very fast and well. Up to 80% of customers of IT-outsourcing companies have the chance to improve their business performance, according the results of IAOP’s Annual Survey.”
The Expert Council, which selected the winners of IT Awards, includes: CEO of SoftServe Alan Harlan; trainer and speaker in IT and project management Vijay Prasad; Chairman of the Board of Directors at SoftServe Yaroslav Lyubinets; co-founder of Eleks Software Oleksiy Skrypnyk; President at the Kyiv Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis Dmytro Kuiavets; methodologist and principal consultant at Scaled Agile Alex Yakyma; President of Association Information Technology pf Ukraine, senior director of EPAM Systems Yuriy Antonyuk; Delivery Management, Delivery Center Head at GlobalLogic Andriy Yavorskyi; Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the IT-BPO cluster, CTO at ELEKS Andrey Hankevych.

About the Program and Awards
The Master’s degree in Technology Management at the Lviv Business School of UCU has been developed together with the Lviv IT-BPO Cluster for IT professionals seeking to extend and update their knowledge in management, advanced computing subjects and soft skills. The course also provides an excellent platform for professionals who wish to realize their own project.
The program lasts 1.5 years, and is made up of modules. Eighty percent of the instructors are foreigners who teach at such famous universities and business schools as Pennsylvania, Wharton, Carnegie Mellon, London Kingston, Leiden, etc.
The Ukrainian IT Awards is a nationwide competition that aims to identify and reward the best professionals in the IT industry. The competition, which was started by SoftServe, was held for the first time in 2012 and it was supported by many IT companies in Ukraine, the IT Association of Ukraine, and the Lviv Cluster of Information Technology. Winners are determined by an independent expert committee that examines the submitted questionnaires and makes an assessment. The expert committee includes distinguished professionals in the IT sector. For maximum objectivity in the competition, personal information about the participants is hidden.
