The Master’s Program “Managing Impact-Driven Organizations” Receives State Accreditation: What It Means for Students and Faculty

13 Mar 2026

The Master’s program “Managing Impact-Driven Organizations” at the UCU Business School has successfully received state accreditation, marking an important milestone in confirming the quality of education and the school’s strategic development.

A Vote of Trust and Academic Guarantees for Students

For the first cohort of participants who began their studies before the program obtained its official status, this decision confirms the validity of their choice. Academic Director of UCU Business School Natalia Oboznenko emphasizes:

“For the Managing Impact-Driven Organizations program (MSc in Managing Impact-Driven Organizations), obtaining accreditation was critically important. As the first accreditation in this field, it has become the strongest response to the trust shown by the students who, a year and a half ago, chose a brand-new program and, in many ways, agreed to become part of our educational experiment.”

State accreditation opens new opportunities for students and confirms the quality of education:

  • Degree legitimacy. As Program Director Natalia Lahotska notes, holding a state-recognized diploma accredited by the Ministry of Education significantly simplifies communication with employers and partners, clearly confirming the level and content of knowledge obtained within the European educational framework.
  • International recognition. Since Ukraine is a participant in the Bologna Process and part of the European Higher Education Area, an accredited master’s degree is recognized abroad. This allows graduates to continue their studies at the PhD level or at other international universities.
  • Quality assurance. Accreditation confirms that the program meets national standards and delivers the declared learning outcomes.

Value for the Business School: From Internal Review to Greater Efficiency

For the school, the accreditation process is primarily an opportunity for a deep internal audit.

“Accreditation is an extremely valuable process of internal ‘stocktaking.’ It allows us to analyze how our processes actually function and where we can improve. It is a rare opportunity to step beyond the fast-paced operational mode in order to more thoroughly assess and systematize our programs,” explains Natalia Oboznenko.

This approach enables the school to:

  • Become more operationally efficient. Accreditation allows the use of structured algorithms and procedures across all programs.
  • Free up resources for development. When administrative processes are well organized, the team can devote more time to program design, attracting new faculty, and improving student support.

Benefits for Faculty and International Prospects

Accreditation strengthens the program’s reputation in the academic community, which is crucial for attracting top faculty. As Natalia Lahotska notes:

“High-caliber faculty seek to work with high-quality programs. Since accreditation is an official confirmation of an effective quality assurance system, it becomes a strong argument for attracting leading experts and members of the academic community.”

In addition, national accreditation is a necessary “entry ticket” for obtaining international recognition, including from the EFMD association. This enables UCU Business School to:

  • Move closer to the level of leading European business schools.
  • Act as an equal partner in international educational projects.
  • Attract international students and faculty by guaranteeing familiar European quality assurance practices.

More Than a Standard

Despite formal requirements, UCU Business School maintains its own quality standards that significantly exceed national benchmarks. The school’s programs, including Managing Impact-Driven Organizations, follow an MBA-class format—they are designed for experienced managers and practitioners, not only recent bachelor’s graduates.

As Natalia Oboznenko concludes:

“Compliance with national standards is our basic obligation. However, UCU Business School always looks toward the international educational landscape. Our internal quality standards for learning are significantly higher than formal criteria, because we prepare leaders according to global standards of management education.”

The accreditation of the Master’s program Managing Impact-Driven Organizations is another step in the school’s strategy to foster responsible leadership and integrate Ukrainian business education into the global context.
