On November 19, the long-awaited Big Annual Meeting of LvBS graduates took place: Alumni Leadership Day and the presentation of Alumni Awards 2022, organized jointly with the UCU Leadership Center with the support and in partnership with the Ihor Ihnatovych Leadership Institute of Ivey Business School (London, Ontario, Canada). Despite all the circumstances, members of the LvBS Community from all over the country and abroad gathered together to talk about leadership and service within the walls of their native Ukrainian Catholic University.
This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of our Hero Oleh Vorobiov, a participant in the MSc in Technology Management program of the UCU Business School, who died at the hands of the Russian occupier on the front line on May 30, 2022.
All funds from entrance tickets, which is UAH 110,000, are directed by the UCU Business School to the a special Scholarship Fund named after Oleh Vorobiov. For the first time, we held a charity auction, the lots for which were provided by graduates and friends of the UCU, and which collected over UAH 330,000. The lottery with gifts from graduates and the UCU team raised over UAH 41,000. Direct contributions to the Fund from graduates and participants of master’s programs of the UCU Business School during the event amounted to UAH 55,000. We send funds from charity cocktails from our Bar Bro friends (over UAH 12,000) to the Fund, too.
Through joint efforts, we managed to collect more than UAH 550,000, which is more than 20% of the goal. The goal is to collect 75 thousand dollars in a permanent fund (endowment), which will allow to generate a scholarship named after Oleh Vorobiov and, accordingly, cover the costs of studies for one student at the university every year.
