Almost 655,000 hryvnias – that’s how much was raised for the Oleg Vorobyov Scholarship Fund as of now. We remind you that our goal is 2 million hryvnias. Of this amount, 60,000 hryvnias is a donation from the graduates of the MSc in Innovations and Entrepreneurship program of 2021.

Anonymous donors, participants of educational programs at the Ukrainian Catholic University Business School, LvBS graduates, acquaintances, and friends of Oleg, and many others make their donations. We are grateful to everyone who contributes to the sustainable fund.

As Olha Zharova, a graduate of the MSc in Innovations and Entrepreneurship program and founder of The EngL, shared, after completing their studies, their group raised 50,000 hryvnias for LvBS scholarship but due to prolonged approval of criteria for scholarship candidates and the start of the war, these funds were not utilized.

“When information about the creation of the Oleg Vorobyov Scholarship Fund became available, I took the initiative to transfer these funds to the Oleg scholarship fund. Since this is an endowment fund that will generate the Oleg Vorobyov scholarship and cover the expenses of a student’s education in the university every year. This is a long-term initiative, which became an important criterion for us. That’s why we decided to contribute to the joint effort and create long-term benefits,” explains Olha Zharova.

Overall, graduates of the innovation program donated 60,000 hryvnias to the fund.

“In the context of the war, people talk a lot about the contribution to victory. In my opinion, educating personnel and talents, their education, is also a contribution to victory and the restoration of the country after it. And this is not only a question of financial donations, but also a question of personnel development. This is what seems important to us now among classmates because it is about creating long-term benefit and investment in the future,” said Olha.

Recall that on the initiative of the Business School of UCU and the family of Hero Oleg Vorobyov, the Ukrainian Catholic University opened a named scholarship fund in honor of the Hero. Oleg Vorobyov, a participant of the UCU Business School, died fighting for the freedom and independent future of every Ukrainian in the cruel Russian-Ukrainian war. He studied in the Master of Science in Technology Management program at the UCU Business School, was a great father and Christian.
