To Danica Purg and CEEMAN Board:
We request the suspension of CEEMAN membership for those schools in Russia and Belarus, which have not publicly condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
For the fifth day in a row, the Ukrainian people have been steadfastly defending their homeland. Many Ukrainian sons and daughters are sacrificing their lives today so that the aggressor’s greatest dream of humiliating a free country will never come true!
For five days a full-scale war launched by Russia against Ukraine – Operative situation
The whole Ukraine is teaming up to resist Russian aggression. But is it enough to stop the war with one of the largest world military powers? Elimination of the main variable of this war requires everyone’s help. Every one of us who believes in democracy and human dignity! We have to unite as a world to stand against aggression!
The academic community and international associations hold an unprecedented amount of political and social influence, and we are writing this letter today to stress that there is a strong demand for the intellectual elites at the world’s leading higher institutions to use the platform bestowed upon them to take a definitive stance today. The Academia and International Associations must show their support for victims of this unprovoked war, which is unleashing a humanitarian crisis.
We UCU Business School (LvBS), Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS), MIM-KYIV Business School, Kyiv School of Economics, DTEK Academy, Karazin Business School and Schumpeter School of Innovation and KROK University, KROK Business School appeal to the CEEMAN Board to officially abandon Russia Partnership and Belarus Partnership in light of the Ukraine invasion and declare your position.
A clear position of academia, international management development associations worldwide and a consensus on Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified attack on Ukraine is an important signal of condemnation of the actions of the Russian Federation and necessary support for Ukraine, democratic values, and international security. The Academia and International Associations must show their support for victims of this unprovoked war, which is unleashing a humanitarian crisis. Declaring the position which condemns the «Putin regime» in Russia and the «illegitimate Lukashenko regime» in Belarus.
We are convinced this is the right time to terminate Russia’s participation in all international research projects as well as international academic events and competitions. This will give Russian researchers, educators, and students the opportunity to focus on analyzing their indifference to current events. At the same time, actively condemning the actions of the Russian authorities in any of your interactions will awaken their conscience and desire to restore trust.
We should unite all our efforts to stop the war now!
Stand with the Ukrainian people in the defense of our lives, the safety of our families, and the independence of our sovereign nation. The protection of civilians must be priority number one. The decisions of these days will shape our world and directly affect the lives of millions upon millions of people. The protection of civilians must be priority number one.
P.S The letter has been written between the time slots of civil defense sirens.
We hope for your support!
