From MilTech to Rehabilitation: UCU Business School Master’s Students Defend Their Theses

Thesis defenses are the most crucial moment of the year for both students and the Business School team. Over the past week, five master’s programs have been launched: Master in Marketing Management, Master in Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Master in Managing Impact-Driven Organizations, Key Executive MBA, and Master in Technology Management.

The master’s students concluded their two-year academic journey by presenting not merely academic papers, but real-world business solutions designed to address the challenges of war and global crises. This year, the school’s community welcomed 68 new master’s graduates who are ready to implement systemic changes in Ukraine’s economy and society.

This year marks a special milestone for the Master’s program in Managing Impact-Driven Organizations, as it is the first graduating class of a program that teaches how to build resilient and people-centered organizations capable of weathering crises. Students presented projects on developing organizational systems, managing human resources during labor market shortages, and improving interaction between government agencies and the public.

The topics of the graduates’ projects spanned a wide range of industries, from technological solutions in artificial intelligence to critically important social initiatives. In particular, students presented strategies for veteran rehabilitation and mental health, developed models for Ukrainian MilTech startups to enter international markets, and designed the implementation of AI agents for business automation. Special attention was given to energy security and the environment, particularly to projects to decarbonize the oil and gas industry and develop biomethane technologies in Ukraine.

Behind every initiative—whether it’s launching a software engineering school or developing a strategy to manage employee turnover during a labor shortage—lies a real business and a commitment to growth that doesn’t stop even during wartime. We believe that it is precisely these bold decisions and the people who invest in their own development today who will build our country’s future.

Behind every piece of work lies a genuine commitment to growth that doesn’t stop even during wartime. We sincerely congratulate everyone who has successfully completed this journey!

The best is yet to come! We look forward to welcoming our graduates, their families, and friends to the graduation ceremonies to celebrate this important achievement and the beginning of a new chapter in our community.
